About Hollis
Hollis has been a Saanich homeowner since 1992 with a long history of community service. Hollis served as President of Hampton Little League, public and independent school executives, Scouts volunteer, and on Saanich’s Natural Areas Trails, Parks Advisory Committee, advocating for neighbourhood safety, environmental protection, and local sports.
Hollis’ formal civic engagement began in 2004 when sustained advocacy helped uncover longstanding community safety concerns. This led to the successful coordination of provincial, municipal, crown corporation, and school district partners to complete the Burnside Road Streetscape project in 2008. Since 2011, Hollis has volunteered with the local community association, including serving as President of the Carey Area Residents Association. As President, Hollis collaborated with Saanich and stakeholders to help secure protected environmental status for Panama Flats Park. As Chair of the Saanich Community Association Network Hollis led its branding initiative to promote public awareness of Community Associations.
Professionally, Hollis built a career in information technology across North America in both public and private sectors, including municipal and provincial government. As Director of Local Government, she led software modernization projects in finance, land use planning, permitting, licensing, and asset management providing direct exposure to municipal governance and operations.
Through extensive professional, board and committee experience, Hollis has developed strong skills in governance, administration, stakeholder engagement, organizational leadership and project management. Hollis is committed to strengthening local government through fiscal responsibility, public safety, growth management, infrastructure improvements, and environmental protection to deliver lasting benefits for Saanich residents.
