Thank you John. It is great starting to dig deeper into the issues that I am hearing about from Saanich citizens while door knocking. Having been advocating for the community for over twenty years, it is rewarding to see the pillars of my campaign align with the concerns of Saanich citizens.
The cry for non-market housing through planned rather than reactive rushed growth simply has to be heard and deserves an actionable response.
Let’s clarify the definition of developer: separating community-based builders (supportive of inclusive zoning for missing-middle housing that is actually attainable) from corporate developers (accountable to shareholders for profits thereby opposing rent controls and affordable housing while supporting deregulation, faster permitting, and fewer design restrictions.)
